MUSIC
Music is important to the life of First Presbyterian Church and an integral part of the worship life of the congregation. Through music we strive to express God’s love and glory; music enhances the worship experience and offers a means for expressing thoughts and emotions that words alone cannot.
There is a place for anyone who wishes to join in praising God through music. Let us make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
- Chancel Choir - open to anyone high school age and older. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and provides anthems for the Sunday morning worship service from September through May and for special worship services throughout the year.
- Handbell Choir - open to anyone who has an interest in playing bells. The group meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and performs at various services throughout the year.
- Special Music - Volunteers provide special music for Sunday worship services during the summer months and for evening services in the season of Lent.
- Concerts - Events are scheduled at various times during the year for community and congregational enjoyment.
The First Presbyterian
Church of Chicago Heights has a long-standing appreciation of music. Please
come and join us (or just come and listen), and share in the fellowship
we regularly enjoy, as we praise God in song.
